Some tourists in Middle East are scared of its exotic creatures. Spiders are not commonly seen in Middle East. For all we know, spiders may contain harmful substances than can spoil a person. On the other hand, some spiders are harmless. In fact, some soldiers from the US fears this little creature. The scientific name for camel spiders is Solifugids. Camel spiders are named solifugids for they are fast crawlers. These spiders are able to live in dry and sandy areas like the desert. These spiders can be found in Northern Africa and in the Middle East.

Experts say that the speed of a camel spider is 10 – 25 miles per hour. The structural size of this creature is 5 – 12 inches. Some soldiers from the Middle East posted some photos in the internet to show how big this creature is. However, the size is a little bit different from the actual ones. They usually come out on nighttime and are attracted to lights. Therefore, some rumors say that this little creature is a “Night Crawler”. However, just like humans, they seek shed in order to survive the heat of the dessert. For all we know, there are no trees or shed in the desert that makes the temperature high. Consequently, they came out in nighttime in order to avoid the extreme heat of the sun.

There are different rumors that this spider is capable of killing a human. However, some research proves that these spiders are not that harmless. The pictures from different sites are post by some soldiers who were assigned in Middle East is somehow true. On the other hand, these spiders are not to bite unless they are annoyed. Like other creatures, they usually defend themselves in order to survive. If you encountered this creature, it is better to leave the spider alone to avoid commotion.

Camel spiders can be classified as carnivores. They usually eat creatures and animals like, insects, termites, spiders and even small birds. However, these creatures are not that strong enough to eat a human. The structural appearance of this spider is ½ - 3 inches. They have 2 clear eyes and five racket organs. The camel spiders feature resembles with the scorpion. However, scorpions have clippers and sting tail. The hairs on its body are like receptors that can sense vibration. The reason why they can escape or run fast is that they are able to sense whether someone is coming.

As mentioned earlier, camel spider’s structure is different from scorpions and other breeds of spider. They do not have silk glands and venom. Camel spider’s use their powerful jaw in chewing and killing their pray. Unlike scorpions, they sting their pray in order to for them to paralyze and eat their prey. On the other hand, atypical spider use its silk glands in order to trap and suffocate their pray. Some people say that camel spiders produce a hissing sound due to the grinding of their teeth.
